    Silence My Friend

    Silence my friend

In a dark hour when pain was my goal,
God sent you along to soothe my soul.
Now it is my hope and prayer,
that should you ever find yourself feeling alone or scared,
all you will have to do is look up and see that I am there.
You will not walk along the valleys of this life alone
for by God's grace, together, we can find truth, love and friendship
all in a silent tender embrace.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
