My soul is deader the dead they say it's all in my head some times I feel I need to stain the sheets blood red, but you know what they say "the show must go on” and as my lifeless soul walks through my dead world, lost angry, sad, abused and confused I know there are no drugs I can use to make me feel better, this pain is here to stay, my eyes fade from grey, please oh please make it go away, I just want to be happy and care free, but with this burden hanging over me I know theirs no way, no blue sky today and no matter how hared I pray it never ends, it just goes on and on till I am done I am lying there, about to breathe my last breath and I here you call out to me “just a little longer my son” I exhale and breathe another breath it’s not over not just yet, the sky clears and the day goes on but the pain is still there lurking, watching, waiting to consume me once more

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
