We speak with shields held to our chests
I say I love you, you think it in jest
I wish you knew I love you best
I love you always and always.

I lost you to someone new
I found myself inspite of you
You pulled parts tried to undo
the goodness I had in me.

I did so wrong this I know
I tried to stay you wished I'd go
I'd found a new arrow and bow
Cupid's aim deadly and true.

I'd found myself in unlikely places
living life on residual traces
cracks in my sidewalk, my empty spaces
always sucking me down and in.

Im looking for a new way
to let it go , to go and play
to be happy with no words to say
to feel the joy coming from in me.

One day we'll let our defenses down
learn to care with no hidden frowns
to cherish everything in and around
in and around us everyday.
