The Question
Sometimes I'd sit and I'd stare
in wonder at what you'd done
could it be "The devil may care"?
The many instances I'd felt wronged
that glimmer of light within darkness
lets me know you cared all along.
I can't deny how you got on my nerves
playing each side so finely..so easily
spinning me around in your dervish
Here and now I'm looking to the past
wishing I could make the future better
If I went back would I even last?
I could die here where I am right now
for it seems that no one gives a damn
alone except my thoughts in clouds
In truth I'd like to hug you tight
convincing myself, I'd tell you it's ok
saying "never prevailing is the night".
Here's to you and all we've been
we all know history cannot die
I will begin again, again, and again
With you in my heart always.
