    Poem Commentary

I feel like a failure and I've got no friends to talk to. This poem shows the insecurities I have in myself. Nothing special like my other poems. Nothing but feelings of woe.

    Shattered and Broken

I look in the mirror and see a person
    whom I cannot recognize,
I see a person with dead lifeless eyes
I see a soul empty of hope and
    full of pain and sorrow
knowing the same thing will show tomorrow.
Once upon a time that resemblence
staring back at me was so full of life
then came the day I became a wife
I love a man with all my heart
and would do anything for him
he says he loves me but I don't believe him.
Once there stood a strong willed
    German/Irish redhead stubborn and brave
now there is just a shadow of a womanly slave
He sees not, nor cares not what reflections i see
He seems to love but not care what his actions do to me.
The logical reasoning I know is to leave
but that is the part so hard to do
it is hard leaving your heart, the Biggest part of You,

Hi! it seems we're on the same boat. Don't hang on to being shattered and broken. Every time you wake up, say thank you and by and by, you will be renewed.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
