    Poem Commentary

These words are about an individual that goes thru most of their life in depression, then one day decide to commit suicide.  However once on the other side they realize it's nothing like they've ever imagined.  By never being able to undo what's done, the anger and remorse is intensified.

Children and voices are metaphoric for lost souls.

    Shadows

When I walk thru the shadows
    There will be nobody there
    I can hear the voices
    Crying out in despair

    I can feel the fire
    Burn out from the cold
    From the distance
    Burning thru my soul

    From this misery
    Eyes black as the night
    In the darkness
    Children hide from the light

Another great piece! You display sorrow very well. A well-written piece. This poem allows the reader to live through it, to feel the emotion. Great Job!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
