Poem Commentary

This was written during the horrid chapter in my life that I had to endure. People said they knew how I felt, but they had no clue that my depression had reached this vast amount. I tried to keep the suicidal thoughts out of my mind but the only time they didn't creep into my head was when I was helping someone else deal with what they were going through. All I wanted to do was make sure they didn't end up feeling the way I did. I'm just happy I was able to pull them out of it before they had sunk too deep, or as deep as I did..

See Like Me

June 11th, 2012

The day you see what I see,
Is the day you really know what it's like to be me.
Try putting on a fake smile just to get by,
While knowing that the people who mean most to you always lie.
Although there is a good side too,
Like helping to stop people from feeling just like you do.
Oh, what I would do to once again feel sane,
'Cause if I was, I probably wouldn't have to deal with all of this pain.
