Sad Songs

As she cries on my shoulder
I look out the window
And think of our days
The time we spend with each other

She hears the song and takes it in
She likes to hold someone close
Bringing our bond closer
Like my shoulder and her chin

She sobs to the song and realizes life
I sit and watch the sunset
The time feels friendly
Better than feeling lonely at night

I wish our times were more like this
This feels secure, like she loves me
Our fights seem childish now
This is more than I feel in our 'goodnight' kiss

She's the best anyone could ever get
I hope she stays with me
So our friendship can keep its ways
And stay it's place like debt

I know she needs a life of her own
She'll be leaving soon
She's given me a reason to believe
Her heart's not made of stone
