    Rise

I sit here in this booth and stare at this screen
Doing what I can to keep myself from wanting to scream
Pinching myself to wake up from this dream
But then I realize that these mere lies
    Are really monstrous in size
So if I could chose to lose this bruise on my heart
I'd keep it in secret the deeper I should have seen it from the start
    Pullin me apart
Tearin at my insides like where did I go wrong?
Where was I going that made me so strong?
All this pain for a woman that hurt me for so long
A woman that I did but didn't ever want to love
She got me down in the dirt but that's the hurt in the rough
She has me hurtin in pain but that's why I only chose to rise above
