    Disconnected

I was put on this Earth not to be stared at, not to be used,
Not to be glared at, yet I'm still so confused,
Feels like I'm plugged into this Matrix,
    Unwilling to face it,
And the hurt is beyond skin deep, beyond abrasion,
I'm patiently waiting for the pleasure of sensation,
Paralyzed, I can barely move my eyes,
Walking through these lies like railroad ties,
Amazin, steady gazin through these electrical wires,
Playin, lighting the matches that concocted the fires.
Liars, the truth is in these files,
My history and life in the access of a click,
The movement of the right hand without trying to trick,
Willing to stick, got this flame like a flick,
Bic, in the fingernails like an itch,
    Life is a bitch,
Never felt less respected like a twitch,
That's why I get disconnected like the flick of a switch.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
