Quest
Within nocturnal's cold and hushed embrace
I silently view and meditate upon life's existence.
Inquring the eternal and ever-elusive question of
my purpose and of who I truly am amongst
the chessboard of celestial constellations.
The mirror's reflection stares back mockingly
daring me to search and expose my inner demons
and dysfunctions that are holding me back.
Nomadic insanity infects with complacency.
Delving within, extracting the malignant tumor
of procrastination is like masterbation...
the only person I'm screwing is myself.
Pale moon amongst a black velvety backdrop
beams down eerie rays of silence and solitude.
To go within is to go without. Removal of distractions,
focusing in on the eternal quest for I.
Taunting and haunting, a flood of past memories
rushes in, ebbing and swirling about me.
Getting caught up in the undertow of crushing
inevitabilities
Soul torn apart, suffocated in absolute blackness.
Pierced from within by this insufferable pain,
is there no way out of this convoluted maze insane?
