Pretty Faces

Pretty Faces

Should I call the pretty face

a name by which it deserves?

Or shall I put to use

all the skills which I have learned?

To keep it inside and swallow my pride

Without telling you how I feel

Even if your face be the prettiest

My words I will conceal

The funny thing is that now

When girls see competition

It encourages them to be something they’re not

And sparks a new ambition

Desperate time call for desperate measures

Is what these girls are thinking

Trying to impress their “one true love”

Even if it involves sex and drinking

Along with the drama and the so called karma

People forget how to be nice

They see pretty faces and funky shoe laces

And already they despise

What has our world come to

When there is no one to trust?

It’s obviously in a pretty bad place

When the murder’s outweigh the love.

THANK YOU !

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
