Biography

i, like many of you, take in a breath and exhale a thought dressed up in metaphore and other descriptive lengths. the written word makes life bearable, and in many cases, exceptionally beautiful. someone once told me that i should refer to myself as an "aspiring writer and poet", because I have not yet published a work. my response was, "but I AM a poet. I AM a writer. Someone else does not have to validate this for me by paying me money. Is a musician not a musician if she doesn't get paid? Is a painter not a painter until someone buys his work? why should it be any different with the written word?" We are poets. Words find us, (sometimes accost us, even), and we use them to see by. This is what we are. This is who we are. This is who and what I am.

Now, on a more personal level, I share my life with my husband of 15 years and our 11 year old boy. They save my life everyday. They shine a light on so much darkness. They have taught me what happiness and life is all about. They help me to believe in something bigger, something holy, something infinitely good.

I am always seeking silly moments and eternal truths. Sometimes I find them, sometimes they find me, and sometimes I sit waiting. Regardless though, I ultimately love life, and I love to love.
