    Picture Perfect Child

    The picture perfect child
    So delicate and sweet
    Each little appendage
    So perfect and unique

    I know I haven't been perfect
But I do the best I can
    And someday when you're older
    I hope you'll understand

    Sometimes I get frustrated
    Your father left us behind
But it seems to get better
When your eyes look to me and shine

    I you're only small now
But soon I know you'll see
    I really am trying son
To be the best that I can be

(Written in 1998 for my first born son, Jade)

very beautiful and full of hope. i'm sure no matter what scenario his eyes will always shine in the sight of his mother. very well put

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
