    Over and Over Again

    Like a monster
    it claws at my insides
    until my eyes burn
but still I refuse to cry
I refuse to let these tears fall

    What good would it do?
the monster will still be there
    claws as sharp as ever
    still tearing at my heart

    The monsters name you ask?
    regret, disappointment, and shock
it's as if my heart has broken
    and although I know it's
    temporary, that part of my
    heart will not be filled

    It will remain black and
    rage ridden
    forever
and as I come to terms with this
    situation
    the monster calms
    it's claws loosen
    and tears retreat
    until next time
