    Outside of Here

    Life outside of here,
In just a few more years,
    It teases and taunts,
    It's all that I want.
    No more tears,
    No more fears,
    About this place,
All my past will be erased.
    I can't behave,
    But I'll be brave,
    Have a new start,
And go try with all my heart.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
