Poem Commentary

I'm not an addict. In fact, I never take medication. It's just.... an outlet.

Not. A. Thing.

Here it comes,
checking out.

You don't care,
so I don't care.

I bet my little bottle of pills care,
at least about the pain they can not kill.

So I reach under my bed,
and I take a few.
And I put them under my pillow so i can hear them rattle,
reminding me there is hope in the darkness.

But its not enough,
I can't scrub away the death in your voice,

So I take a few more,
and a couple more to sooth the aching,
and one more handful because i like the feeling of nothingness
...
nothingness...

Nothing

Not a thing.
...

Help me?

You are a very unique writer Brer. Your works entrap my soul and make it feel what you do... i do intend on reading the rest of your writes. Hopefully not all of them are so down, but sometimes the down ones are the best. :) Good luck. ~Audrey

Brer~there is such an urgency in your writing. a cry out, that all of us have endured. even at the darkest of times, there is always, always, a light at the end. help comes in many forms. for some it is in the asking. for some it is in the verse. I look forward towards your brightest days. keep writing poet! It only gets better peace........................................................~forever~

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
