Natural contradictions

If life is nothing but mere illusion

Why all this chaos surrounding our being?

If death is nothing but mere transaction

Why are we so sad … desperately mourning?

If love is so sweet … burning with passion

Why then do we turn our backs to its sting?

If you are consumed by life’s erosion

Why not turning the page to a new beginning?

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
