    My Sunshine and My Heart

When they laid you in my arms
    I cried a mother's tears of joy.
    I have never been happier
than when I had my little boys.

From tonka truck and teddy bears
    to video games and girls.
    I can't believe how much you've grown
since I brought you in this world.

    Christyn was the first
from the beginning he was mine.
He brought light into my life
and will forever be my sunshine.

    Conquest was the second,
    loving from the start.
He dug his way into my soul
and from there became my heart.

    Skinned knees and bad dream
throughout all your ups and downs.
Anytime you need me I'll be there
with open arms to clear your frowns.

    Sometimes life gets tough
and I'll always be your mother
but if for some reason I can't be there
remember to stick up for each other.

    Christyn and Conquest
    my two angelic blondes.
You were a gift given to me
I'll never have a stronger bond.

I'm so proud of you both.
    You're handsome, mischievous and smart.
I couldn't ask for anyone better,
you're my sunshine and my heart.

No matter how old you get,
    whether we're together or apart.
You will forever and always be
    my sunshine and my heart.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
