    My Special Mermaid

Amidst the many corridors lined with dreams, the one I still choose, remains the most elusive.

A still grey and mystical time. the waves of life lapping against the sands of time, stealing tiny grains with each passing day.

She sat upon the solid fortress of defiance, a piece of green and black barnacled strength.

Perhaps it was the day, or the time, or any one of hundreds of things, but I fell it was just her prescence.

The aches of the past come drifting back to my mind, each seperate pang is relived, a warning to myself to be cautious.

She sits there still, and I hope I shall never lose this felling, come what may.

To, and for a special mermaid, you are to be treasured.

    Thank you.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
