My restless sparrow
I have watched himRight from the days
With his broken wings
As he hobbled around
Pitiful begging eyes
I couldn't resist nursing him
Rooting a love so profound
Sunsets to sunrises
Through the short seasons
We have traversed
Slowly he has healed
The smile's grown bigger
The feathers grown brighter
The pain almost gone
On the bright days
Awakens me with a love melody
So mellow and sweet
makes my eyes glisten
Can't deny the moody days too
When broodingly
He cows to a corner
I wish could tell, what runs through his mind
I wish could touch and lessen it
But even I understand
With every healing wound
With every attempt to fly again
There is that momentous painful setback
Helplessly,
I can only sit and pray
Tommorrow we will see a brighter day
Oflate though
I can't help but sense
The growing restlessness
As I watch the frantic flipping of the wings
Flakiness in attention
Altered morning sounds
The discontented look in his eyes
As we dwindle into slumberland
I can tell
It's just a matter of time
Before the beseech
To be let out
Let's face it
This caged world
Was my self-created
He belongs
In the outer world
The glamour of the woods
Numerous beautiful butterflies
that can only colour such a world
It aches inside though
To feel his slipping spirit
But I know
Despite loving him
The best way only I knew how
When the impending time draws nigh
I will do whats best for us all
I will perch him on my palm
And with a forehed kiss
Let him fly away
To his familiar world.......
Maybe
One day again
Hopefully soon
He will sit by my window in the early morning
Enchanting my heart again
With his rare beautiful words.
