My Lost Love

My Lost Love

Predestined is the way,
To which I do not understand,
So how am I so lost,
On a path already laid out for me,
I thought I understood,
That love was the way,
Until love let my happiness stray,
I see the picture in my head,
Grey skys cry tears,
Into the cold ground where you lay,
Strangers lowered down my heart,
And covered it with dirt,
A still moment,
That has frozen my mind,
I cannot leave our passion behind,
So many why's,
Fumble through my head,
Why did you have to go,
Why did I need you so,
Why did you have to hurt so bad,
You felt this the only choice you had,
I cry while I write these words,
I hope you hear them well,
I loved you then,
and i love you now,
and i'll love you forever.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
