My Little Boys, My Big Heroes

‘You don’t raise heroes, you raise sons!

If you treat them like sons, they will turn into heroes -

Even if only in your eyes…’

I remember my mother  saying to my father

Over and over again in my ‘growing up’ years.

I never fully understood what she meant then

Until tonight, my little children!

Because of your Nan’s unwavering love to us – her darlings -

You always give her back unflinching love and caring

Your quick thinking and common sense saved her from 'going'.

My dearest children, you and your Gran means the world to me.

I am truly blessed by God for your presence in my life today.

A Mom – full of love and care; three children as guardian angels;

My children, thank you for being there when it really mattered!

My life is truly privileged – I could not ask for more.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
