    I am the Luckiest Person

I am the Luckiest person today!
And let me tell you why!
My mother was born of a generation
    Where non-islanders were mistrusted.
    Hence the opportunity of education
    Were denied from her.

One day, my Mom attended the PTA meeting
When I was in Grade six class.
I was proud of my mother seated
Among the professional parents of my batch.
Although she was illiterate, through no fault of hers,
Her presence made me felt loved and supported.

    My mother anxiously combed the room for me;
When it was her turn to introduce herself
She turned around and looked at me

let alone sign for our documents. God blessed and love us
    Because we have him'

A great poem about a great relationship, made so by the quality of the people in that relationship. I consider myself lucky I got the opportunity to read this. Good work!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
