    Monster of Deceit

A beautiful creature at first glance
Such a lovely and charming face
It will allure and entrance you
Binding you in its powerful grasp.

    Your eyes, it shall destroy
    Though sighted you will remain
The things you see are only
    Distorted visions of the mind.

    Your head shall be invaded
    Your thoughts clouded with fantasy
    Reason will be fought against
    As desire slowly rises

But the heart will be its finest victim
It will tear and tear at it
'Til the pain and aching become too much
    And you must surrender everything.

Sounds like you've had some experience with it dangerous beauty, your heart is still beating thats got to be a goodly thing.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
