    Poem Commentary

This is exactly how I felt when I wrote this. It's crazy what a simple attraction can do to a person. This one came so naturally.

    Bittersweet Poison

    Like the arrow that strikes
My heart doesn't stand a chance
Though slow and torturous you might be
You will drive me mad until I succumb

Pain and pleasure in my veins
Hot and cold all over me
My breath is slowly getting shorter
My heart will surely be crushed

    Must you take me over
    In such an agonizing way
    Can't you be the sword
    And quickly claim my life

Why do you leave me wanting
What I clearly can never have
Yet you leave me pining slowly
A victim of your sweet death

I didn't mean to make you feel that way, pain and then joy, sounds like parent night.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
