Monster in the mirror
Every night she sits quietly at her dressing table, combing her dark brown hair. The mirror reflecting an exact replica of her beautiful image.
Her Dark long hair, her plump red lips, and sweet sparkle in her eye.
But she sees, it is all a lie. a tear falls from her eye and slips from her cheek.
She wants even begs to see what the mirror sees.
But the reflection is marred by pain, lies and sorrow.
She tries so hard to see the beauty that the world says is there.
but all she sees is a window of horror and grief, ugly lies and beliefs.
Pain from past, faults from sin, etched deeply into her face.
The world taunts its ills and evils, life lessons learned but unwanted.
She begs God to see what is real, if even for just a moment
but all she sees, and all that is revealed,
is the Monster in the mirror.
