Just turn around

Just turn around

I walked into a field, flowers blooming purples, pinks and yellows.
The sky as blue as the ocean waters.

There you stood with your back to me.
You looked to the sky and cried to god.

"Where is she lord, the one you promised me before this life began?
The one that would love me forever, beginning to end?"

I tried to get your attention, but your tears blinded my cries.
I begged please turn around, but it fell on deaf ears and blind eyes.

A woman crossed your path, you thought maybe she would be the one.
In the end you were back in that field, crying to the skies.
"God please tell me why."

I stood watching, wishing I could hold you, but you had to turn around.
Another woman caught your eye, and you were off again.
I waited still, for I knew you would be back again.

A third time you came to that field to cry your hurts to god.
All I could do is watch and wait, for it was you that had to turn around.

You continued to cry "but you promised Lord!"
"You promised she would be here, to love me from beginning to end."

God finally said "Don't you see, she has been here all along.

You just need to turn around!"

As you turned around, my smiling face caught your eye.
You smiled back, cause you knew me, you remembered me.
You knew I was the one.

Happy tears flowed through my eyes.
"I waited a long time for you"  "dear Brad" I said

                                      "Just to turn around"

I really do love this poem, it means a lot and says a lot to me

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
