Monster At Her Door

Monster At Her Door

she lies in the bed

knowing he will come

she can't escape in sleep

nor is there anywhere to run

she fears the moment she will hear the door

wishin' it would work when she pretended to snore

wishin' the pillows over her head

would hide her from the shadow standing over the bed

if only the sheets and covers would trap her in

instead they welcome this unwanted friend

the music is an ugly sound

moans and groans; grunts and growls

her bed is an uncomfortable place

on a mixture of blood, sweat, tears and semen stained sheets

she lays her body and face

the curtains are closed so they hide the scene

from the moon and stars which would otherwise see

what night prepares in presence for

the MONSTER AT HER DOOR

Heavy .. so very heavy for one that understand that fear and that hope to simply be able to sleep and pretend that rest and peace will come in the night and not those quiet Monster that slip pass covers and curl slowly beneath whispering words that was lost in the air the moment the bed accepted his weight.. this was very real and so real true thanks for sharing..

oh, but how i wish i could write with he musical beauty of your writings...maybe you can teach me...

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
