Monster At Her Door
she lies in the bed
knowing he will come
she can't escape in sleep
nor is there anywhere to run
she fears the moment she will hear the door
wishin' it would work when she pretended to snore
wishin' the pillows over her head
would hide her from the shadow standing over the bed
if only the sheets and covers would trap her in
instead they welcome this unwanted friend
the music is an ugly sound
moans and groans; grunts and growls
her bed is an uncomfortable place
on a mixture of blood, sweat, tears and semen stained sheets
she lays her body and face
the curtains are closed so they hide the scene
from the moon and stars which would otherwise see
what night prepares in presence for
the MONSTER AT HER DOOR
