Moment In Time
Moment In Time
It flew into the fire station
Small and frightened
It's wings fluttering faster than I can see
Stunned from hitting the fire truck
He picks it up only to realize it's a humming bird
It lies on his hand but a few seconds
Then to its feet looking confused
Through the doors he walks
Holding the little bird
Carrying it back out in the sunlight
To release it back into nature
It does not fly away
Those watching stand in amazement
As this little bird sits in his finger
Turning it's little head back and forth
Looking at the hand holding it
Then looks up at the big hairy face looking at it
But this little bird lingers on his big hand
We stand watching in amazement
Bewildered by the site before us
The photographer stands camera in hand
To overwhelmed to take a picture
Where man and humming bird
Come together in a moment in time
