    Memories and Thoughts...

How I wish to see thee,
    To behold thy face!
Even as Helios climbs heaven's vault,
Thy memory climbs my heart all day.
The morning mist refreshes the Earth
As thou refresh my mind by night.
Pomona and Psyche are vague memories,
And compared to thee they are myths.
How did it come to pass?
How was thy smile engraved on my heart
    As a furnace mark?
Kindness and joy are jewels on thy necklace.
Love and joy are garments thou wear all day.
    Spartan Helen, daughter of Zeus
Dims at your side as a lamp
Before the brightness of the Sun.
    God Almighty and King,
    Thanks for creating a girl
Whose name is The Pearl, Annie.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
