MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU...
He walks over to youShaking so nervously,
He holds a sign in his hands,
I'll work today for food,
Will you please help me?
Your thinking about the day
Your caught in the moment,
He is the one
You don't even see, and
You don't care to notice...
Could this be you?
Look around your own world
Just for a second or two.
Think deeply inside
Before you drive on by,
It could certain'ly be true.
All he wants to hear
The words from
A heart and mind
That are clear,
From the pride
We all fall into
That will provide another day
He can make through...
May the Lord bless you...
May the Lord bless you...
I know I can't take away
every'thing,
But this is---
What I can do.
She peers ov'r the windowshelf
And sees a world
That is not her own
She fell far
Deep inside herself
She can't leave
This place she's in
She yearns to be back home
As You walk by
You see her
From the street
She looks down to you
Pleading without words,
Will you care about me?
"Another one of those", you say,
But what if life gave to you
The same sorrow
She feels today?
All she's yearning to hear
Are the words of kindness,
If you could say them
She would hear them out loud
And she wouldn't seem
as frightening....
May the Lord bless you,
May the Lord bless you,
I know I can't take every'thing away...
But this is what I can do.
Shine a light from him
And they might see this through...
Give to the least of these,
With such love
That can shine right through
With love that acts from your heart
It is so easy to do....
Each and every day,
We see a face that hides
In despair and pain...
Do we turn away ourselves?
Or can we give love away?
May the Lord bless you...
May the Lord bless you...
I pray you find somehow,
That this is
What you'll want to do....
