    Married but Seperated

He told me that they were not together.
He said that we were gonna last forever.
He told me that he was getting a divorce.
Being with me was his choice.
I fell for it because I thought he was true.
I was so gullible and didn't have a clue.
Got off work early to give a surprise.
Went to his house, I couldn't believe my eyes.
A truck in the yard and a car was there too.
I knew who it was, I couldn't just pass through.
If I would have done that, wouldn't get no rest.
Looking through the window , she's lying on his chest.
Lookin at every movement, I called his phone.
He raised up, but didn't answer like no one was at home.
I took a breathe for a moment and was gonna turn around and leave.
Then I thought to myself ,how can he do this to me.
I knocked on the window, he was not sleeping that hard.
He jump up and peeked through the blinds and said "OH MY GOD"
Came to the door and tried to explain the situation.
The more he talked, I was filling up with frustration.
But I can't blame him for messing with my life.
Because legally........... She is still his wife.

Sometimes we get so caught up in what we want that we don't realize it may not be what is good for us! Good poem! Thanks for sharing!

I like this. Many women have been in this situation at some point in life. The results are usually the same. I like the way you told a story and made the reader visualize the events. Good poem.

now this is so true in every aspect and legally he is still obligated to her just as if you were married and he wasn't

Cool narrative poem. i love your poem. i love your use of rhyme, it gives it flavour and helps carry the reader along.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
