    lullaby

To hear a song fall from the sky,
the sweet sounds of a pure lullaby,
I write this song of words untrue,
told of the angel the angel could be you,
to hear of these awful words you speak,
why so dreadful why so meek?
as the heavens pour down upon my face,
watching you soar up with such beauty and grace,
that sweet song the pure lullaby,
its the song of you the song I cried!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
