Loveball
So...you want to play the game.
You feel like keeping score.
Well, I think that it's a shame
Because I've played this game before.
The curves you'll throw at me
To try and bring me down.
You'll give me the fast one
To keep me comin' around.
And when you take the offense
You will always follow-through
Stepping right into your swing
Like any sport would do.
The grounders that you'll hit to me
Will bring me to my knees
And your line-drives to the chest
Will break my heart with ease.
From the corner of your eye
You will watch me like a hawk.
You'll think that I will steal
But I think I'd rather walk.
You see, I've played this game before
I have won and I have lost
But I don't think the victory
Is worth the pain or cost.
It's the bottom of the ninth
The count is full and so am I
The bases will be loaded
Time to kiss this ball good-bye.
So now you'll learn a new game
Oh I hope that you'll play fair
For you can only cheat yourself
...When you're playing Solitaire
