    Lost

I am lost and I will stay
No reason to go I have no place to be
    No one to see
    No one to see me

Reaching out pulls life back for a fleeting instant
The cruelty of life rips it from you
This time dropping you even further into the depths
The depths of pain the depths of despair

God I know you hear my cries
My pain you see, my struggle you encourage
My body is tired my Spirit weak
Twirling in circles to no complete

    Complete
A day, an hour, a minute, or even a second
Those are too much to ask for at this time
Control each nano second would be a start
But I am weak I am tired
    Why can’t I give up?

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
