Looks
It seriously is pathetic, what this world is coming to
It's becoming a world where someone's inside doesn't shine through
It doesn't matter if you're smart, funny, and have a good personality
If you don't look good, then you're considered "ugly"
You can love someone, and they can love you too
But if your looks aren't good, they can't be with you
From childhood we're taught to always look within
But how are we supposed to see that if everyone criticizes them?
So what if they're not up to your standards? They may be perfect for me
But this "ugliness" may be something that people don't want to see
What's sad is that this kind of thinking spreads;
You may not believe it, but it all gets to your head
It's pathetic that people won't and don't experience love, only lust
Because they think that being with someone who looks good is a must
Apparently it's okay to be with someone who treats you bad
Just so that your love's "ugliness" won't make society mad
So what if a person isn't "cute, or has glasses, or weird hair?
Without all their looks, tell me, what's there?
What do you do when the one you lusted after suddenly doesn't look so good to you?
Do you go back to the "ugly" one, the one that ACTUALLY loved you?
You would have learned that everything is more than looks and what you see
But the one you loved and who has loved you will move on to someone better than you can ever be
