Looking Back...
If only I had super powers,I'd travel back in time;
I'd rescue all those students,
that day at Columbine!
I'd journey to nine eleven,
then feel my muscles strain;
as I grapple with all my might,
to safely land those planes!
I'd grab those terrorists one by one,
send them straight to hell;
there'd be no death at the Pentagon,
those towers would've never fell!
To the northeast I'd set my course,
to wring a psycho's neck;
I'd fight with every iota of strength,
for the lives at Virginia Tech!
I'd plummet back to '66,
to that tower in the sky;
I'd beat ol' Whitman with his rifle,
no one would've died!
I'd hang around the 60's,
to '68 and '63;
there'd be no death for Martin,
nor death to the Kennedy's!
Back I'd go to World War Two,
over six million lives were lost;
if only I were a super hero,
there'd be no holocaust!
I'd soar further back to 1912,
to an ice berg all alone;
I'd smash it to a billion pieces,
Titanic would find its way home!
On to the new millennium,
The year of 2004;
I'd stop a rampaging tsunami,
from the depths of the ocean floor!
Although I'd fail to conquer all,
for God is the conquerer of sin;
dreams are those for a mortal soul,
defiant to the evil of men!
