Location Doesn't Matter

Location Doesn't Matter

My home will be where you are, wherever that might be,
A trailer in the boondocks or a mansion by the sea.
Location doesn't matter if your love is there with me.

As long as we're together I can live in anyplace,
a box out in the alley or a bubble up in space.
Location doesn't matter if you love me face to face.

As long as I can hold you I'll be happy as a dove
living in a subway station or in heaven up above.
Location doesn't matter because I have you to love.

could we do the mansion by the sea? I like the sound of that.

You remember the word location after all this time, did you find that spot on the map? And no, I don't want to live under the subway we are a bit old for that.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
