    LIVING IN A BUBBLE

MY CIRCLE OF FRIENDS IS LOST TO ME,
I GROW BY MYSELF, TRYING TO BE.

MY SPIRIT LAUGHS, BUT NOT MY HEART,
MY WORLD IS SEPARATE AND MILES APART.

I LIVE IN A BUBBLE WITH NO ESCAPE THERE,
I NEED TO BE FREE, IT’S JUST NOT FAIR.

I LIVE WITHOUT SUBSTANCE, MY LIVE NEVER FILLING,
NO PURPOSE, NO REASON, NO NEED TO BE WILLING.

BEAUTY I SEE EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR,
BEING LOCKED IN THIS BUBBLE IS ALL THAT I FEAR.

TO TOUCH THE FLOWERS THAT SMELL SO SWEET,
AND SAY HELLO TO ALL THAT I MEET.

NO ONE CAN EVER KNOW MY PAIN,
BECAUSE THEY LIVE THEIR LIVES IN VAIN.

MY HEART KEEPS TRYING TO SET ITSELF FREE,
BUT CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT ALL OF ME.

THE BUBBLE IS FINALLY ABOUT TO GIVE WAY,
IN THIS PLACE I WILL NO LONGER STAY.

NO LONGER FEARING THIS BUBBLE I’M IN,
I KEEP UP THE FIGHT TO CONSTANTLY WIN.

I AM FREE TO LAUGH, FREE TO BE,
HERE FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD TO SEE

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
