    INVISIBLE ROSE

I walked through a field of invisible Roses today
Blood soaked, permeated with the sweet fragrance
Of it’s wonderful petals all around me.

Enveloped in the rays of the sun
Giving me the glory of its beauty
    And it’s perfumed petals

I held an invisible rose today
    Pricked on my finger
    By its hardened thorn
    My flesh not torn

I smelled an invisible rose today
    Captivated by its essence
Captured in the fresh morning dew

I picked an invisible rose today
Because it reminded me of you

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
