    BREAKING FREE!

LONELY, LOST, AND NEEDING TO BE,
FOR SOMEONE, WHO REALLY AND TRULY WANTS ME.

ALONE IN A WORLD, ALL ITS OWN,
I SIT HERE, ON MY PEACEFUL AND QUIET THRONE.

NO ONE THERE TO STAND BESIDE ME,
BECAUSE, THEIR HEARTS AND SOULS ARE FREE.

THIS WORLD IS LONELY WITH NO ONE THERE,
NO JOY TO SHOW, NO LOVE TO SHARE.

NO ONE THERE TO BREAK THE ICE,
TO BE ALL ALONE IS A TERRIBLE PRICE.

TO BE FREE FROM THIS NIGHTMARE SURE WOULD BE GRAND,
PLEASE SOMEONE, WONT YOU GIVE ME A HAND.

PLEASE SOMEONE, WONT YOU COME TO THIS PLACE,
IF ONLY TO LAUGH AND SEE JOY ON YOUR FACE.

LOVE AND LAUGHTER MUST SURE BE THE KEY,
FOR NOW I FEEL I MAY YET BE FREE.

FOR WHEN I AM FREE, I WILL GO THERE NO MORE,
I WILL CLOSE AND NAIL THAT OPEN DOOR.

I WILL BE FREE FROM THIS DARKNESS THAT I FEAR,
ABLE TO LOVE AND HOLD SOMEONE DEAR.

I FEEL THAT TIME IS COMING NEAR,
FOR NOW I CAN SEE IT QUITE CLEAR

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
