Just Ask

Just Ask

If there is something you need, a must or desire

There is one thing from me that I require

It is but just one simple task

For which I tell you to just ask

You should not scramble, nor should you ponder

But rest your heart & relieve your mind

From the everlasting needless wander

There is nothing of me that I wish to hide

Me being the one who will surely confide

For you I’d offer everything if it be the song

You would prefer I sing

I don’t intend to make some random guess

Nor am I hoping to pass a test

What I want to know is what makes you

I think you want the same thing too

There’s no need for us to hide behind a mask

Or to bury feelings into a cask

Live free and do what you bask

You shall receive when you just ask

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
