In The Morning Light
In the Morning light
In the morning light.
I sense the day upon me heavy.
I feel the sun so bright.
Something about this day does not feel right.
It is about to break as though it is a levy.
In the morning light.
The burden feels much too heavy.
I hope this feeling is wrong and my day does go right.
I feel the sun so bright.
The phone rings will the call be what breaks the levy.
I stager to and answer the phone and say hello.
In the morning light.
The voice tells me news that breaks the levy.
Which now is very heavy.
The water starts to flow with nowhere to go but down my cheek.
There are enough tears to fill a creek.
I knew something was going to break.
In the morning light.
I feel the sun so bright.
