Grandma
Grandma
When I was young
I remember Grandma’s long curly silver hair
And when I would comb it how
She would not wear.
Her voice as she sang her silly songs
My laughter rang out as she told me funny, funny stories
I remember how she would bouncy, bouncy
Me upon her knee.
The way she always knew that on Sunday mornings
Pancakes with maple syrup were on the menu with one scrambled egg.
Oh Grandma why did you leave, and why did you have to go
I told God that he could not have you NO!
Now the time has come to say goodbye
But oh how very, very much it brings so many tears to my eyes.
To know that this terrific and special lady has gone
No more pain to feel.
So my dear Grandma I miss you I do
So I will never, ever forget the wisdom you showed to all
Kindness you gave to all you came your way
So my dear Grandma I miss you I do
