    HEARTACHE AND STRIFE

YOU CAME TO ME WITH A BROKEN HEART

SAID YOUR WORLD WAS TORN ALL APART

I OPENED MY ARMS AND WELCOMED YOU IN

BUT LITTLE DID I KNOW "I WAS BEING USED AGAIN"

I WAITED FOR YOU ALL MY LIFE

AND ALL YOU'VE GIVEN ME IS "HEARTACHE AND STRIFE"

I'VE LOVED YOU FOREVER AND A DAY

BUT I WANT A LOVE THATS HERE TO STAY

YOU'VE BROKEN MY HEART SO MANY TIMES

LUCKY FOR YOU BREAKING SOMEONE'S HEART IS NOT A CRIME

OR YOU'D BE SERVING A SENTENCE FOR LIFE

AND ENJOYING ALL YOUR HEARTACHE AND STRIFE

    LENA WHITEHEAD

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
