    Grand Canyon

O great canyon of the past
Place I would love to be
How my heart sought for thee
My limbs crave to climb thee

Sought for after so many stories so true
That of sweet flowing river through
With the sun of early morn
So gorgeous as it richly sets

    This lonley life of mine
Tis where i'll love to lay
Where the birds search hard to perch
A place of peace and still

    O!thee my beauty canyon
How I have longed for thee
To set my eyes at least
    Or lay my life within

    Let peace reign on you
Till I bring my eyes upon you
    Beautiful resting place of peace
    I really sought for thee

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
