    Poem Commentary

This can be interpreted in many ways that I will leave to you, but I was initially thinking of a young couple.

    Gifts

    You’ve been entrusted a heart
    A fragile and wondrous thing

It can be crushed under the weight
         Of the smallest word

    Or hold the universe together
         Through the most desperate times

    It’s connected to a mind

    Thirsty for knowledge

It can calculate the beats of its heart
         Or hours in a day

But still marvel at a sunset
Or the wonder of butterfly wings

    It belongs to a soul

Gentle and caring as young as it is

It will make mistakes being given free will

It can be forgiven and begin again

i'm afraid i've come to the conclusion love is just a curse and i dont feel like being eternally damned so my hearts closed and its locking its doors it cant do it anymore

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
