From the pen of a soldier...
I loved you, time and againMy dreams have been immersed within your own
in my hands, I've held yours, and drank deep of the promises of things to come, to be mine and yours
I've always been ready to protect you
To cross an ocean if I had to
And to defy kings and dictators, parents and naysayers
To be with you and protect you from the darkness of the world
In your eyes, I knew that you would be mine forever and I to you
Mountains could not stand between the things I would do for you
Every night, as I lay down, awaiting anxiously the day I would step into the sun, I pray it would not be my great getting up morning,
I pray so it, because I would not tire from the fight to keep you safe
And I beg God to not end my fight
My love, I would lay my life on the life to defend you
For you, I'd do anything and I'd fight with every breatn and with all my soul
For all things as I, a man would stand, I am prepared to do
For you, I would die.
Such is my love for you, and I anxiously await to come home, to see you again,
Mine eyes are strewn with tears, for I do not know what awaits me, but I will not tarry long, I promise. I will come back to you and I will enjoy your soft words and caresses again
Whether it be the flames of Hell, or the Light of God that awaits me at the end of my journey; of my life, I don't know what to expect
But I know along the way, it is my love of and for you that lights my way.
In my honest feelings, I have no fear, because every time I will raise my rifle, it is in your defense and mine.
And every morning, as I sit at that terminal, I remember that every keystroke will be to build a stronger future for us both
With every night, I know that another day has gone by, and my body is safe, making it one more day I kept my promise to you.
From my lips, to His Ears, I will lay my life on the line to prove not only that I am capable of anything, but with all my soul, to step forward as a man in this world, to prove that for you, nothing is impossible for me to do.
My love, from the pen of a soldier, I do not write this with blood nor ink or tears, but with the very essence of my soul.
I beg thee, stand at the seaside on the cliff and await my return. I will come back. I will tarry a little season, but when come I will. I will come with all that I promised you. From the pen of a soldier, I will.
