    Fountain

    I’ve been broken before
Felt the hurt, seen the gore
    That always precedes the door
    Through which all spirits pour

    When the body breaks
    The soul itself escapes
    To that magic place
    There behold God’s face

    Immortality
Is not what we should seek
    Know that we are free
    And nothing can we keep

    Keeping is for those
Who make their friends their foes
    Cultivate their woes
    Their hypocrisy shows

    I choose a different path
    Guided from above
    It’s logical like math
    The only choice is love

    To love it is divine
    The measure of a life
    Though dying on the vine
I took you as my wife

You taught me how to love
    Helped my spirit grow
    Things that we thought of
    Are tattooed on my soul

I’ll share what I have learned
    The remainder of my days
And then I will have earned
The end to all my pain

    The glory and the power
    The essence of the mountain
    Is transferred through her bleeding
That springs forth like a fountain

To share it all we must
    To keep our love alive
Or else our hearts will bust
    From what we hold inside

    Beautiful

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)

    Desiderius’s Poems (13)
